Video published on my YouTube channel as part of the ‘Let’s Start A Conversation‘ playlist, that shares biological and ecological news in a fun and concise manner.
Picture this. You are standing on a tall sand dune, gazing into the horizon … With sand between your toes and not a single drop of water in sight ! Where are we today ? In the Saharan desert ! But that was not always the case.
In contrast to the sandy landscape we can witness today, paintings and etchings dating 11 000 years ago depict a vibrant, green savannah, inhabited by elephants, giraffes, antelopes, rhinos, and hippos. A green Sahara ! How was this possible ? Let’s learn it together !
