CONSERVATION, or the protection of wildlife and natural habitats is all the rave. New protected areas pop up every year and we think we are saving the world. But it’s mere advertising. Because many protected areas around the world fail in protecting biodiversity. And why ?
Because conservationists are fucking broke ! Managing natural areas with efficiency requires large finances. And when there is no money, nobody is hired, and no investment is possible. This can shut down basic management operations. One of them is the monitoring of biodiversity.
