
Forewing 21 – 26 mm. Front margin of forewings slightly convex and bearing tiny brown spots. Wings white, bordered by a thin brown line, variably spotted, with fine black spots in some individuals, and neatly divided by 3 fine transverse brown lines. Hindwings with short tail and 2 black false eyespots.
Caterpillar host associations are unknown. Adults can be found from September to May, with a peak in abundance between October and November.
Found in frost-free wooded areas of the Eastern Cape (South Africa) and up North towards East Africa.
