Previously known as Patella echinulata or Patella natalensis.
Roughly oval, with approximately 50 fine ribs textured with black granules (and not white as in Scutellastra granularis). Often eroded, smoothing the ribs and revealing a brown cap.
Up to 60 mm.
Little information is available on this species. Non-territorial.
